Having kids sheds a new light on Valentine’s Day, taking it from romantic to platonic. 

I told the girls that Valentine’s Day was a good reminder to tell the people that you care most about how much you love them.

Viv dictated notes to her grandparents – I tried not to guide her, just asking her “what would you like to tell them?” and “what do you like most about them?”.
